The Gift of Time

Time is something most of us feel we need more of. A Coventry-based babysitting agency, EvaSitters, has solved the problem for many of us. Babysitting gift vouchers are now available to buy for your friends and family, allowing parents to have time for other activities without worrying about childcare. The vouchers offer at least three hours of pre-paid evening babysitting to the recipient, so you no longer have to feel guilty about being unable to babysit for your family or friends! The ‘gift of time’ is a thoughtful present parents will appreciate on special occasions and all year round.

Most people will agree that childcare is a big cause of concern in today’s society, especially where both parents work. Evasitters’ staff are all interviewed face-to-face, screened thoroughly and paid by EvaSitters, so parents do not have to worry about all that. All good parents will agree that their children are their most valuable possessions, so they cannot afford to be careless about childcare. EvaSitters provides police-checked, experienced and caring babysitters to homes in Coventry, Warwickshire, Birmingham, Leicester and surrounding areas, even at short notice, with no membership, booking or registration fees.

Everyone knows that good, reliable childcare is priceless. Having a babysitter or nanny that really gets your children and ensures that they are safe and happy allows you to get on with life without guilt or worry. Although, parents will be willing to pay anything for such a reliable and necessary service, EvaSitters charges the same affordable hourly rate for any day of the week, and parents can get a discount with multiple bookings. For parents on the go, there is also an Evasitters phone app, available for free download from www.evasitters.co.uk .

The founder of EvaSitters, Dr Afiniki Akanet, a medical doctor, explains why she set up the company: “I wanted to provide an easy-to-book online babysitting service which allows parents, like me, to have time away from home when required, while also providing flexible well-paid work for eligible UK residents. Having no membership, booking or registration fees, allows parents to use our service regularly or occasionally without penalty. Because of the large amount of daytime childcare providers, such as nurseries and childminders, EvaSitters specialises in providing childcare after 6pm and at weekends.”

Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT) becomes national start up loans provider‏

Coventry, 9 May 2016. The Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT) has announced that it is opening up its start up loans to companies nationally.

Loan applicants no longer need to attend CWRT’s Coventry offices for an interview, as applicants are now being interviewed over Skype if they are outside of the core Coventry, Warwickshire, West Midlands, Northants, Oxfordshire and Leicestershire regions.

Indeed, the Coventry based loan provider has helped Christopher Sekyere, from London, who received a CWRT Micro-Loan of £1,000 to help with his new sports company. Up & Coming Sports Ltd offers personalised strengthening and conditioning programs to young players in football. His work consists of assisting young players at all levels in their physical development.

As a delivery partner for the government backed Start-Up Loans company, CWRT has successfully funded over 100 start-ups in 2015, and is looking to match or beat that number in 2016, with its two main products – the new CWRT Micro-Loan and its existing Start Up Loan.

In the responsible finance provider’s efforts to expand nationally, it is already listed on Leicester and Northants county council websites to inform local businesses of the new avenue of funding.

CWRT’s new Micro-Loan product lends from £500 – £4,500 to start-ups seeking financial assistance for immediate needs, such as office equipment, marketing expenses or a website upgrade, while the Start Up Loan lends up to £25,000.

Allison Evering, new start-up loans officer at CWRT, explains: “We have grown our team and now want to help more companies to realise their dreams. I am especially interested in supporting more black and ethnic minority and female run businesses. We offer a real alternative for companies that are unable to access mainstream finance. Our loans are part of our national start-ups initiative and we are looking to attract more companies wherever they are.”

While there are many uses of CWRT loans, they have successfully been used in conjunction with grants, so providing the match funding often necessary to gain free grant funding.

The CWRT Micro-Loan and Start Up loan are available to anyone over the age of 18, owning a UK business. The loan itself can be spread over a 1 to 5 year period with a competitive fixed interest rate of 6%.  There are no administration or early repayment fees, so for businesses proving to be even more successful than anticipated it can be paid off much more quickly.

About CWRT

CWRT is a not-for-profit specialist finance provider committed to supporting businesses and individuals based in Coventry and Warwickshire. It provides flexible and competitive finance designed to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and businesses from the Coventry & Warwickshire area who are unable to obtain loans from mainstream sources of finance.

CWRT understands that obtaining business finance can sometimes be a challenge. The lack of a track record, unreasonable security arrangements, past financial problems or simply not meeting conventional credit scoring methods may raise barriers to obtaining funding.

Since 2004, after receiving funding from various organisations including the European Regional Development Fund, Coventry City Council, RGN Rural/ WCC Urban programme, Warwickshire County Council, CWLEP Growing Places and the Start Up Loans Company, CWRT has loaned nearly £5 million to start-up and existing businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire that have had difficulty in raising finance elsewhere.

Ally Evering
, a Commercial and Start Up Loans officer and Leah Blocksidge,  a Start Up loans officer have joined the team to manage the increasing demand for finance and business support for companies, both locally and nationwide. They will be based with the team at the epi-centre of business support and growth in Coventry, at the Coventry and Warwickshire Growth Hub.

Ally has over 15 years’ experience in asset finance, while Leah is a specialist in start-up loan funding, as she previously spent two years at another Start Up Loan delivery partner. The duo is responsible for increasing the volume of businesses applying for loans, and speeding up the application process.

CWRT has seen the number of applications for loan funding grow over the last year. Companies are buoyed by the economic recovery, and are looking for a convenient and competitive alternative to a business bank. Although CWRT was originally established to provide financial assistance within the Coventry and Warwickshire region, it has now become a national lender, with start-ups across the UK accessing its affordable business loans.

Both loan officers will be attending local networking events, and are especially interested in encouraging applications from female led businesses.

Mike Musson, Chief Executive of CWRT, comments: “We are growing our team at an exciting time for CWRT – we have expanded the Start Up Loans Programme nationally, we are about to launch our new Inclusive Enterprise Programme, and we have grown our pot of commercial loan funding for existing businesses based in Coventry and Warwickshire.

CWRT’s start-up loan programme is specifically designed to help new businesses like #FaceFlips, Kokoso Skin and Viewpoint Games, lending up to £25,000, and providing mentoring support pre and post loan application to help entrepreneurs start their own business and to encourage employment across the region. For commercial loans, CWRT lends up to £75,000.

CWRT is a delivery partner for the national Start Up Loans initiative, which has now lent more than £200 million to micro-businesses in the UK after recently agreeing its 36,000th loan. The initiative was set up by government in 2012, says its loans have contributed to the creation of more than 50,000 jobs, with more than 16,000 of those people being formerly unemployed or economically inactive.

For further information on the start-up and business loans and advice available from the CWRT team, visit www.CWRT.uk.com or call on 02476 551777 .
